Helloooo Brave New World! I'm baaaack... My name is Baby & I'm back for my last chapters. My forever family had me & loved me for 3 1/2 long years, but the biscuits became fewer, and my health isn't so good anymore, so they decided to give me back to SEPRA so I can enjoy retirement w/ my foster parents. Don't look too bad for a gal of almost 13, do I? I'm still the Kissing Queen, and being held like a Baby is my favorite time of day. Food still motivates me like no other, (bananas are the BEST!) & it feels good to be back with the much younger crowd of yester-year. However, since I'm getting up there in years, my eyes aren't as good as they once were, so don't ask me where the door is to go potty. My skin was aweful and my fur was falling out, so don't ask me to keep you warm. (Thank goodness it's summer.) My hips and legs don't work as well as they used to, so don't ask me to go jogging with you. My ears were infected, so I pretend I can't hear you, unless it's for bananas. My teeth are really bad, but I'm too old for a dental, so don't ask me to chew you r food for you. But I still can love like no other. I kiss my foster parents every time they give me my eye or ear meds. I'm very tolerant of them giving baths every few days, even though I tell them I smell fine. (The yard is full of dead worms for rolling in.) They think they're being sneaking when they put put pills in my bananas, but this gal has been around the block a time or two.. I know what they're up to, so I just take them like a good girl. They're not foolin' anyone. I even have them trained to carry me down the stairs even when it's raining, so things are looking up around here.
While I miss my forever home, and I know it's not their fault they had to give me back, I'm really loving the retirement lifestyle my foster parents have made for me. If you happen to have any extra biscuits or bananas you could send to SEPRA for my care, I would greatly appreciate it. I know being high maintenence is a job, but someone has to do it.
Lots of Love,
Baby Lilypad Princess III

Helloooo Brave New World! Did you miss me?? Since it's been a few months, I wanted to show you how wonderful retirement has been for me. I got to enjoy turkey over Thanksgiving, snow over Christmas, and Bingo every weekend as you can see. And now w/ the warmer weather, I get to walk around the neighborhood w/ my foster brothers or sisters. I get to meet other dogs and get love from neighbors. They think I'm spunky for 14. Since I've gotten older, my dogtor though it would be good for me to start pain medicine for my arthritis. I'm still on joint supplements, but I'm feeling so much better w/ the medicine. And I love my biscuits so much, my new nickname is "Cookie Monster". Can't get enough of them!
Just wanted to say "Thank You" to people who have sent in biscuits & bananas for my care. And for the woman who wanted to send me clothing so I dressed better: Thank You, also. You are a doll! I appreciate every wonderful day, and enjoy it to the fullest. Most of all, thanks to SEPRA for taking me back and making sure I'm well cared for. Retirement is a dream.
Lots of Love,
Baby Lilypad Princess Budinski III
UPDATE: 3/29/11
It is with great sadness we let you know that Baby went to the rainbow bridge today (3/29/11) at 2:30pm. She was almost 14 years old and a puppymill rescue. She was originally adopted out and returned by no fault of her own. She was placed in the hospice program due to her age and health needs. She has been battling what was suspected to be pnuemonia since Sunday. The vets today believe that it was lung cancer. She was going downhill very quickly. The decision was made to not allow her to suffer any longer. Her foster parents were with her and holding her as she left this place. For those that have had the honor of meeting Baby they know what a special girl she was. She never let anything get her down and was more than willing to give love to whoever graced her presence. Please help us in honoring Baby and her memory. Thank you to her amazing foster parents Catherine and Morgan who have given her everything they had and showed her what being a part of a family was all about.
