We always thought we would be a 2-dog house. Charlie changed that.
Until a couple of months ago we have lived with Yukon, our 10-year-old American Eskimo, and Wonka, our 5-year-old black male pug. For about the past year Wonka has been giving us that disgusted look that only a pug can do because his big brother Yukon was refusing to play with him like he used to, or like Wonka wanted. We tried to explain to Wonka that Yukon was getting older and did not have as much energy. Wonka’s solution was he needed a baby brother. We half-heartedly tossed this idea around for quite some time, but never really moved forward. Then one day we were looking at the SEPRA site and there was Charlie!
Not only was Charlie exceptionally good-looking, but his name was CHARLIE.....and every Charlie should be with a Wonka...right!?! So we read Charlie’s bio. We knew if we were going to go to a 3-dog house that we needed to have the right fit. Despite the fact that Wonka’s waistline is somewhat larger than recommended he remains extremely active and we wanted a baby brother for him that was high energy and full of fun. As we read Charlie’s bio, in addition to his name being perfect, his personality seemed to be just what we were looking for, so we moved ahead, contacted SEPRA and filled out the application. After getting approved we drove to Missouri to get our new family member.
So now Charlie is home. He has fit right in like he has always been here and was meant to be here. Charlie loves his big brothers (and his humans of course), loves to sleep in the big bed, loves his tasty treats, loves his big fenced back yard, loves to go on walks and loves to play. Charlie has already assisted his big brother Wonka in losing 4 pounds to date, which has given Wonka more energy to play with Charlie, which is just fine by Charlie. They have both even gotten that old white fluffy big brother Yukon to play again some too.
Charlie is a fantastic, handsome, healthy, energetic, very happy little guy who we all love immensely. SEPRA allows dogs like Charlie to find their perfect forever home and allows them to lead that special spoiled life that all pugs are meant to have. We are forever thankful for the work that SEPRA does and for bringing us our Charlie.
