Sweetie
Thank you, thank you, and thank you! Doesn’t seem like it’s quite enough, but will have to suffice until I find other words.
First, you must know that I am a Pug Lover – and anyone who has ever owned (or been owned by) a Pug knows exactly how I feel. Every pet owner knows the awful feeling of losing that beloved companion; and also knows when the time is right to begin the search for your next best friend.
This is where SEPRA came in. I began slowly, just looking on-line, you know, not really making a commitment – until I saw Sweetie! It was love at first sight – at least for me. So I went thru the application process and was, of course, so anxious waiting to hear just a little something; 1) she was still available, 2) I’m in the running, etc. Can’t say enough good things about the SEPRA organization; Sweetie is not my first rescued pet, but I can honestly say that her health, her habits, her demeanor were not “exaggerated” as has happened before with other organizations.
Well, it’s been almost two years and she is nothing if not her namesake! Doesn’t do tricks, doesn’t fetch the paper and doesn’t ever have to worry about being homeless again! She DOES give tons of love and kisses, follows me everywhere and sits with me at every opportunity.
One aspect I really want to mention - Sweetie is a senior dog and I want to encourage everyone (especially my age – over 50) to at least consider adopting adult and/or senior animals. They are usually very mellow, almost always housebroken, depending on breed, may not require lots of exercise and are very, very grateful for a loving home – and as a result give lots of love.
So, finally, thank you SEPRA for my wonderful little furkid, Sweetie!
