Olive

Hi everyone! I am 4 years old and have lived with a loving family my whole life until the family structure changed and my mom could not take care of two dogs. She called SEPRA for help, because she wanted me to go to a nice home.

My foster mom says I’m an irresistible roly poly full of love. I am very calm and get along with all dogs and people of all ages, even if they’re hard to get along with. I must admit I do have a special affection for men. I would never even think of growling at anyone; I don’t even bark. You hardly know I’m around, but I do love to sit next to you or at your feet.

The only problem I have right now is my breathing. My foster mom noticed right away that breathing is quite an effort for me, so she took me to the dogter. He discovered my nares (nose openings) are too small and my palate is too long. Because of this, my airway is partially blocked. My foster parents say my night breathing sounds like a little jack hammer or jake brakes, interrupted by occasional gagging, making it nearly impossible for anyone to sleep. Not only that, I can only take short walks, so I’m not able to trim my waist line.

I will soon be having an EXPENSIVE surgery to correct both those problems and then I should be perfect! I will be forever grateful if any of you could be my virtual foster to help SEPRA pay for my surgery so I can breathe easier and be on my way to my forever home. My foster mom says I will be a priceless addition to my forever family. Pug hugs to you!

Update 9/30/2011
Well, I’ve recuperated from surgery and excited and ready to find my forever family. Now that I breathe so much better, I have lots of enthusiasm and energy! My snore is very soft now, if any. I enjoy two walks every day and I’m able to keep up with my brother and sister without any trouble catching my breath. I’ve even lost a pound! My FM says I have a VERY agreeable disposition and I get along with everyone. She says the only thing I need to improve on is sleeping a little later, so we’re working on that. I’m on a new seizure medicine that doesn’t make me lethargic and it costs less than $10 per month. My seizures aren’t frequent. If you are looking for a sweet, calm, but enthusiastic girl who wants to give you lots of love, I may be the one for you. My FM says I deserve the best and my forever family will be thankful to have me! P.S. I don’t do well in a crate, so I prefer to be restricted to a certain area, if needed, rather than crated.
