Arf! My name is Sugarbear and I am a 7 yr old black pug with a cute white patch on my chest. I am a lover of all things I enounter human and animal alike. Although I bark at the doorbell and run to see who's there, I'd probably try to lick an intruder to death! I have a sister who is a cat, and I love to play with her. Sometimes I even let her chase me! I love to play with other dogs too, though most dogs find me annoying because I want to keep playing when they are finished. I have never bitten or even growled at a human or animal. I don't like to share my food but I am ok with sharing my toys. I especially love human children because they have far more energy to play than human adults do!

My favorite things include snuggling for hours, afternoon treat, breakfast & lunch, meeting new humans, playing tug of war and chewing my bones. I love to go for walks outside but only if it is short (1 mile or less) and the weather is not too hot & humid.

I do have some minor health issues you should be aware of. My eyes have cloudy spots over the iris and have been that way since I was born, but I don't seem to have trouble seeing things at this time. Its not a good idea to let me jump down off of furniture as in the past I have thrown my back out. It's best to help me down from high locations like a bed to prevent this from happening. Also a lady never likes to admit this but I have bad breath. My teeth and gums look great according to the vet but for some reason my breath still gets stinky. I do have a sensitive stomach so best to keep me on a strict diet so you won't have to clean any messes up.

I am UTD on all my shots and spayed. My coat is thick, healthy, and shiny too!! I love getting a good brushing!! I know a few tricks and english commands. I understand "sit" very well and sometimes I will follow "stay" unless there is a visitor at the door in which case the urge to say hello is too overbearing to follow any command. I understand "go potty" which means I need to stop piddling get out to the yard and pee & poo. I also know "up up" and when a treat is presented, I will get up on my hind legs and hop around in a circle to dance the best I can! When I get really excited while playing, I will tuck my tail under my behind and hop around like a bunny! My current owners find this hilarious. Hopefully it will make you laugh too!

I will come with lots of toys including a green frog named "Boodah" which is my favorite stuffed toy. I have a rope which I love to play tug-of-war with. I have a blanket which I enjoy napping on during the day, and a cozy bed which I sleep in at night. I prefer to sleep on the bed with humans, and I've been trained to stay in my dog bed during this time. I'm good about sleeping in with the humans, and I get up only when they get up!

I am a very loving and friendly animal. My owners recently had a baby and are very busy with work and the new addition to the family. I need someone who can give me the attention and love I deserve.
